Birthday Gift . . .
Today is our daughter-in-law's birthday. Kelly has become quite a keen gardener since they built their new home. Recently they installed several raised garden beds, so I decided to turn a garden set for her.
In a clockwise direction from the top, a seed starting pot maker. By wrapping newspaper around the form Kelly can make eco-friendly seed pots, then when the seedlings are ready to go into the garden, she can plant them out pot and all. Next is a tamper for tamping down the seed raising mix. String holder and a string line for keeping those garden rows nice and straight. Finally, a seed sower for vibrating those tiny seeds into the garden or seed pots.
I made a card for Kelly with a garden them. By using the Delicate Doilies stamp set and my lacey punch the card was quickly made. While I was putting the firewood away, I found a lovely big piece of bark and with some of the wood shavings from my turning I had the perfect base for the gift. I also coloured some of my wooden flowers to match the card. I was happy with the final result.
