Pecking Order . . .

I'm definitely not at the top of the pecking order. I was late this morning to feed the chickens and when I went out, they were impatiently waiting right by the house. They quickly turned around and determinedly led me back to the orchard. Clucking noisily and hovering near the tunnel-house while I collected their food. I felt sufficiently chastised for my tardy arrival. Then without any hesitation some headed to the grain dish and others got stuck into pecking at the Subway bread.

Returning the empty grain container back to the tunnel house I noticed that the chickens have been happily making a dust bath for themselves in there.  Then I watered the brassicas, lettuce and broad bean plants. Everything is growing so well with the protection of the plastic walls.
